The Void is a collection of various spaces from all walks of life, which means you can find anything here. It's usually not in the best shape after a quick crash landing, but it's not uncommon to find medieval castles next to an alien rocket ship powered by friendship.
But there does to seem to be a very, very odd focal point in the 'middle'. Or, technically it's just being called the middle, since the Void seems to stretch infinitely in all directions. These areas are called The Defined. Most people tend to take up residence in these areas. Things still do fall through occasionally, but they tend to slot together like a game of tetris and rarely does anything get completely destroyed. At least not anymore.
Around the chunks of Defined land is The Vague areas. These tend to be where the most chaos happens, where the most stuff and people drop in now a days, adding slowly but surely to individual Defined areas. Everyday The Vague grows further and further as more things and lands get added to it. People do live here, though it's rarer since the land tends to be much more mutable.
Finally, surrounding everything is The Faded. These areas get traffic both otherworldly and from the Void but they're ever changing. Most new creatures, monsters and void-ly beings are 'born' here. Things rarely stay the same, in fact once an area in The Faded has remained unchanged for more than a month the land is considered part of The Vague.
All locations have a sort of patchwork quality to them, but only The Faded contains visible parts of the Void. Otherwise it looks like any weird planet you've ever been to. The sky tends to change on a dime, varying from all colors of the rainbow and all types of weather imaginable. Usually The Defined doesn't get the brunt of the bad weather, but it's not immune to blood red rain that tastes like cherries.

Common beliefs Even with so many different beings locked into one place, almost none of them sharing a religion, there seems to be a few common things they agree with. Namely, many that have 'afterlife' beliefs are convinced that being dropped into the Void is a dooming thing. Nothing leaves, not even your soul, and thus when you die you remain trapped here. Many use this as a way to explain why everything here always feels... creepy. Its as if the entire Void is haunted. Weird occurrences happen that aren't in the 'random stuff falling from the sky' category, most of which resemble typical haunting behavior.
Weird groans, creepy lights, things being moved within your own sight are pretty common. Sometimes you'll have weird prophetic dreams, or notice scribbles on notes that you didn't leave. The various tech isn't immune to it either. Some even claim that many of the Faded locations are actually former Defined that have wasted away and been moved by the Void, or perhaps even just outright rejected by the Void.

Technology With a land as varied and alien as the Void, it is littered with all sources of tech and most of it even functions still. Many that are dropped here will find their communicators still work, though they can't consistently contact the outside world.
Some scientists even think that those moments you can contact your former world is actually what causes many 'haunting' experiences on your former world.
At any rate, they work with others inside the Void, allowing many to communicate in ways that don't require old fashioned mailing systems. But tech seems more prone to ghostly manipulation or just outright weirdness which is why the post office still exists. Letters may occasionally have tweaks to them, but it's significantly rarer and not rapid fire. Where as many have received extremely weird text messages or calls on their communicators, some at all hours of the night.
