Players
There's actually very few limits as to what exists in the Void and what you can play. As long as it's mainly humanoid in some fashion it can be played here. There's no strict rules for specific types of centaur or witches, it's from your 'world' after all, you fashion it how to please. All we request is no full blown animals- if it can walk upright and talk in some fashion its fine (basically anthros, anthros are fine). This is to form a distinct separation between creatures and players. If you really want to play an animal, I suggest making a shifter of some sort.
Many people have been born in the Void themselves from couples that have been trapped there previously. Some humanoid like creatures have even been born from the Void itself, and yet do not retain a monstrous disposition or the need to bond to someone else, in fact they can still bond with the other creatures.
If you choose to make a character from some sort of Fandom that's totally okay too! We even allow canons within reason. Since the Void operates on a multiverse theory, there's even the ability for there to be multiples of the same canon! The only requirement is that they're not from the same universe. For example: Two Harry Potters, but perhaps the one is from a universe where he didn't become a Gryffindor and the other had Sirius survive. Perhaps there's even a third one where the whole story proceeded canonically accurate. Tweaks to their canons will be posted in the character apps under skills/powers.
However if we start to get too many of the same canon in proportion to the amount of characters we have then we may impose a temporary ban on creating it. We don't foresee this being a huge issue, but for now there's a soft limit of 3 of the same Canon character existing at once. You may message the admin to plead your case if you desire.
OP Characters
An Over Powered character is exactly what it sounds like. We actually do allow a significant amount of OP in the characters but we require clear guidelines on how their powers or skills work. Once your app is accepted you cannot go in and edit new powers or skills without purchasing the ability to add it. This keeps people from making exceptions to every situation they encounter.
Regardless of how powerful a character is, they still do NOT have the ability to God Mode or Power Play in any situation. Permission must be obtained to control or injure another persons character, and making your character always know whats going on or reading other people's minds will eventually annoy other players.
Creatures
Creatures are born from the void, mostly resemble animals in some way or another, and prefer to follow players around. More details can be found here.
Monsters
While still born much like other things from the void, Monsters are... mistakes. They're not controllable, they're not usually friendly, they're a 'thing' that is entirely controlled by impulse and that can pose a huge problem for many denizens.
Occasionally creatures that go 'rogue' will be accused of being monsters. They still retain their abilities to reason for their specific species, but at some point a time they just decided 'to hell with people!'. Sometimes they can be violent or even plan terrible schemes to hurt people. Many a time it's just a creature that wants to be left alone, they have no urge to imprint.
Items, Residences and other things
If it's not for purchase in the store, you can basically just own it!
